The beach

I am so thankful that my family is forever! While we were in San Diego of course we went to the beach. The water was freezing! The ocean by California is always cold, but the sun was shining and the sand felt awesome on our feet! K was a little unsure of the sand at first. He would only sit on a towel on my lap for quite awhile. Then he slowly put his toes down followed by his whole foot and then he touched it with his hand. He soon realized that he really liked to throw the sand, and when I wasn't looking, he liked to taste it just a little! M loved to go in the water a," little bit tiny"and she loved to play in the sand. As we were at the beach I was reminded that I don't need much in life. To be able to be with my family is something that makes me so happy. To watch them play together and have fun makes my heart so happy. This trip was so fun!

Disneyland!

We are so blessed because we were able to go on an AMAZING trip as a family. We were able to go to San Diego and stay with B's younger brother B.J and his wife, S. While we were there we took a day and went to Disneyland! We had such a great time! K got a little hot, but once we let him get out of the stroller and walk around a little he was fine. Here we are in front of the Disneyland castle.
Meeting Mickey Mouse was awesome! We got to walk through his house which is deceivingly big. From the outside it looks small, but when you walk in there is turn after turn after turn! When we finally got up to see him, K was really done with standing in line. But we got a family picture and I got to KISS Mickey Mouse right on his cheek! I think I may have blushed, but I can't be certain.

Meeting Minnie Mouse was another huge highlight! Just M and I stood in line to meet her while B and K walked around to keep K happy. Minnie Mouse was really sweet. K was a little nervous at first, but then Minnie leaned down so she could talk to him and he got really excited! He honked her nose while screaming,"NOSE!" He even kissed her on the cheek! Her house was fun to walk through because the colors are so bright and happy. Disneyland was awesome! We got to eat dinner with some of the princesses. That was fun. The food wasn't very good, but M was so excited to be that close to the princesses. When Cinderella came out M looked at me and said,"Is she the same from the movie? She looks different." What is a parent to say?! I asked her what she thought. She thought she was the same she just looked different because the dress her Fairy Godmother gave her that day was different than the one in the movie.Watching both M and K's faces light up as the princesses came out and the fun they had on the little rides made the day well worth the price.

They grow up so fast!

I remember when M was a baby and she would be screaming in the store, there was usually an older person that would tell me to enjoy this time, because they grow up so fast. Now I must admit that I don't miss having a screaming infant in the store that can't tell me what is wrong with them. But it is so true that they grow up so fast. K now sleeps in a big boy bed and M asked to get her ears perced today. Well, she asked awhile ago how they pierce your ears. When I explained it to her she told me that she didn't want her ears pierced until she was a mommy. But we are going to Disneyland next week and she told me that she wanted Minnie Mouse earings. I told her that unless she got her ears pierced, she didn't need earings. So she asked to get them pierced today. M is learning how to read and K asks at least once a day if he can go potty in the big potty. My babies are growing up! It is bitter sweet. I love to watch them grow, but I miss holding them in my arms while they slept. I love having kids, they are the best! They make my life so happy!

He ate the whole thing!

The other night I put peaches on the table as part of dinner. Well, K LOVES peaches and he ate the whole jar before the rest of us could get any. Now you would think that after eating an entire jar of peaches by himself that he would be stuffed like unto a Thanksgiving turkey, but he wasn't. He still ate the majority of a large bowl of corn and then still asked for more to eat. I am so happy that he loves fruits and veggies. so much.

Hawaii!

This is a picture of Hideways Beach. Isn't it so beautiful?
This is a picture just driving down the street.

I found a real flower and stuck it behind my ear. I am so happy that I am already taken!

This is a picture from the Na Pali coast.

The first night we were in Kauai, the bus driver taking us to the car rental place told us that when God made Kauai he was practicing to make Heaven. I think he might be right.

Happy boy!

So, K loves cars. That is why he is so happy in this picture. You may be wondering what happened to his spectacles. No one really knows. One day he had them and he was playing. Then he came out to me saying," uh-oh, uh-oh." He showed me his glasses and they were all bent out of shape. He had an eye Dr. appt the next day so we just waited to get them fixed. The Dr. asked what happened to his glasses. We told him that we didn't know. He told us that it was OK that they were broken because it was close enough to a year of having the same prescription and so he needed new glasses anyway. Perfect timing right? Well, we didn't know that we were going to have to replace glasses every year. But we found out. We also thought that we would just pay the $25 replacement fee for the broken frames(thank heavens for warranties!) and then get a new prescription for the lenses. We were thinking that would be really good because frames are really expensive. We went to order the new lenses and found out that the new lenses wouldn't fit into the old frames. (Of course!) So we got to buy new frames and lenses. $400 later K was all set up to get new glasses! The Dr. told us that we should have a back up pair of glasses so if he brakes them again he doesn't have to wait the 2 weeks it takes to order new ones without glasses. If the Dr. wants to pay for them, then we can afford it, until then we just hope that the bendy frames we got really do bend and then pop back into place.

SHHHH! My family is sleeping!

The other night I went to a girls night and when I came home, the door to M's room was open. Usually that means that she woke up. I looked around and noticed evidence that B was still trying to study for the GRE.(yuck!) Anyway, I walked into M's room to see if I could help and I saw that B had gone in to help M and had fallen asleep. It was so sweet that I had to take a picture. Then I went to check on K. That kid loves to sleep sideways. Since he is too long, he just sticks his feet out the side of his crib. I love my family so much! They make me so happy!
