Sometimes I ask, "why?"

So a couple of weeks ago we learned that B's mom has breast cancer. I was home when she called and all I could do was cry. I went to see B at work and tell him the news. B's dad passed away almost 4 years ago from colon cancer. When we talk to B's mom she tells us that she doesn't think that the cancer will kill her. She is very positive and that helps us stay positive, but I still think that this will be really hard for her. I love her, she is an amazing woman. In a span of just under six years she lost a son and her husband, but she never blamed Heavenly Father or lost her testimony. I look up to her so much and hope that I can be like her in times of trial. To her we say;" We love you mom and we are here if you need us!"

New family motto

So, I saw another family's blog and their creativity is through the roof because they made a family mission statement that is rather long. Well I decided that we needed to come up with a family motto. So after at least two minutes of serious contemplation I came up with one. "I can do hard things" is now something that is said quite often in our home. Just this afternoon as M was putting on a princess dress she told me that she needed help because she couldn't do it. I told her that she could and talked her through how to put it on. She did it all by herself and after she was done she was so proud of herself! I was proud of her to and then I made her say that she can do hard things. So, I have been working out pretty much everyday since December. I would really like to lose some weight. Tonight I got enough courage to stand on a scale. I am one pound away from pre-pregnancy weight. Yay! See, so I can do hard things! Hopefully as a family we can really stick to our new family motto, because we can all do hard things!

Cinderella fever?

The other day,M asked if she could have a dress up dress on. I got her box down for her and K said that he wanted one too. He pulled the Cinderella dress out and asked to have it on. Without B knowing of course, I put the dress on K. He really liked it. I think the best part was that he wanted the dress on, but then he still wanted to play with his cars. He loves "Rella" and I think he looks pretty cute in a dress!

San Diego temple

What a beautiful place! K was too tired, so he wouldn't look for any of the pictures, but at least we are all in it. I love that we live in a country that we can have these beautiful places of refuge and that we can go inside. I love the spirit that is inside the temple. I am so thankful that B and I were married in the temple and that our family will be together for eternity. I am so thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints. The gospel brings me such happiness and peace.

The beach

I am so thankful that my family is forever! While we were in San Diego of course we went to the beach. The water was freezing! The ocean by California is always cold, but the sun was shining and the sand felt awesome on our feet! K was a little unsure of the sand at first. He would only sit on a towel on my lap for quite awhile. Then he slowly put his toes down followed by his whole foot and then he touched it with his hand. He soon realized that he really liked to throw the sand, and when I wasn't looking, he liked to taste it just a little! M loved to go in the water a," little bit tiny"and she loved to play in the sand. As we were at the beach I was reminded that I don't need much in life. To be able to be with my family is something that makes me so happy. To watch them play together and have fun makes my heart so happy. This trip was so fun!

Disneyland!

We are so blessed because we were able to go on an AMAZING trip as a family. We were able to go to San Diego and stay with B's younger brother B.J and his wife, S. While we were there we took a day and went to Disneyland! We had such a great time! K got a little hot, but once we let him get out of the stroller and walk around a little he was fine. Here we are in front of the Disneyland castle.
Meeting Mickey Mouse was awesome! We got to walk through his house which is deceivingly big. From the outside it looks small, but when you walk in there is turn after turn after turn! When we finally got up to see him, K was really done with standing in line. But we got a family picture and I got to KISS Mickey Mouse right on his cheek! I think I may have blushed, but I can't be certain.

Meeting Minnie Mouse was another huge highlight! Just M and I stood in line to meet her while B and K walked around to keep K happy. Minnie Mouse was really sweet. K was a little nervous at first, but then Minnie leaned down so she could talk to him and he got really excited! He honked her nose while screaming,"NOSE!" He even kissed her on the cheek! Her house was fun to walk through because the colors are so bright and happy. Disneyland was awesome! We got to eat dinner with some of the princesses. That was fun. The food wasn't very good, but M was so excited to be that close to the princesses. When Cinderella came out M looked at me and said,"Is she the same from the movie? She looks different." What is a parent to say?! I asked her what she thought. She thought she was the same she just looked different because the dress her Fairy Godmother gave her that day was different than the one in the movie.Watching both M and K's faces light up as the princesses came out and the fun they had on the little rides made the day well worth the price.
