Heaven on a stick

Let me just start by saying I am not one to take pictures of the food I make. I feel like most of it is just food and people have seen it before. Today I was really craving Pizza Factory bread twists. That little joint is a pizza place in Utah. I must admit that the pizza there is for sure underwhelming. But their bread twists are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! It for sure brings the scripture, Man cannot live on bread alone, up for debate. I used to work at a pediatric dentist in Provo that was across the street from the Pizza Factory. Sometimes I would think,"All that's separating me from those scrumptious bread twists is asphalt and some cars." Those two things usually weren't enough of a reason to stay away from them. I would go and get them for lunch. I say "them for lunch" because I NEVER got just one. I always got at least five. No I'm exaggerating. It's probably safe to say that I would marry the bread twists if I could. Anyway, I really wanted some today, so I actually thought to look on the Internet and see if I could find a copy cat recipe. To my great joy and excitement I found one! It's on a wonderful little site called, creations by Kara. They were so so easy to make and if you guessed that there were no leftovers you guessed right! They were heaven on a stick! Don't they look so good?! I am tempted to make another batch right now! The only bummer is that I only got five of them from the batch that I made. Don't panic, I shared with my family, although I probably could have eaten them all! I think that this lady should get the Nobel Peace Prize for her wonderful contribution to society with these bread twist. You may be thinking that I'm being a little extreme. I'm not! truly they were divine and I can't wait to make them again!
(You know that not a whole lot is going on if I am taking pictures of food and rambling on about said food item!I'm just sayin' they were really good, that's all!)

Seaworld!

So, Sea world has this great deal called a preschool pass. Children ages three to five get a years pass for free. Then an adult ticket will get you back into the park all year. So you pay for one day and get back in all year. Well, we were thinking that that is awesome! We were also thinking that going to Sea world would be a great place to take the kids as we switched off going to the temple. It is really close to the temple, so we can take turns watching the kids at Sea world. We decided that it would be a super plan for the non summer months. We tried it out a couple weekends ago. let me just say, it was awesome! It's already almost too hot, so we may only get to do it one more time before we put those passes away until November, but it was still so fun!
We loved going into the aquarium and seeing all the really pretty colorful tropical fish. I love that we could see them and we didn't have to get in the yucky salt water and snorkel in order to do it!
These sting rays were sweet! There is a tank that goes all around you and so they are swimming all over the place.
I'm not really sure what all the differences are between all of the whales, but they make for some pretty great pictures. This is a Beluga whale. As we watched it go up and down in the water, you could see the blubber shiver up and down it's body. Pretty sick if you ask me!
We loved the whale show! We didn't want to get wet, but we wanted good seats. So we sat in the seventh or eighth row and just prayed that we wouldn't get wet. We're living proof that prayers are answered! The whales splashed the people on both sides of us but missed us! We loved that the trainer made the whale smile.
I hadn't been to Sea world for about seven years. I had forgotten how cool it is. We all loved the whale show and that we walked out as dry as we walked in.
We went to the dolphin show. We thought we would only see dolphins, but there was this whale in with them. We hadn't planned well enough for a whale's splash...
...Oh dear, here's the result of our lack of planning. Poor kid did not like that he had been splashed! Thankfully it was 90 degrees(yes it truly was and it was the third of March. That's not great!)so he dried real quick!
I think it's truly amazing that they can jump so high! I don't know how they train them, but I'm very impressed with the out come.
The dolphin show was my favorite part. I love these animals! I love that we were able to spend some of the day in the temple and then some of the day at Sea world. Hopefully the kiddos won't get too tired of going. We didn't make it to see the sharks and B says that alone is reason enough to go back. I thought this day was totally perfect and I'm excited to go back!

Happy to report

I am happy to say that after four grueling weeks, my infected hangnail has healed! I seem to always have a hangnail plauging me. So, four long weeks ago when another one was making itself known, I didn't really think anything about it. Well, by that Thursday night I was definitely thinking about that hangnail! It gave me grief like I had never known with a hangnail. Oh my word! It hurt so bad! You would be amazed how often one notices an infected hangnail! It seems to effect your whole entire life! I felt like saying,"don't even look at it! It hurts when you look in my direction, so just don't look!" It got so bad that I even had B take a needle to it and try to poke it so that the infection could come out. Now you may be asking yourself why I didn't go to the Dr since it had been four weeks. I may or may not have health insurance and so going to the Dr unless it's an absolute emergency is something I hold strong to. As I was praying to know what to do the thought came to me to put hydrogen peroxide on it. So for a few days that's what I did. I dipped a Qtip in it and would put that on my hangnail. It would bubble and look really cool but it didn't really seem to get better. I continued to pray about it. The thought came to me, SOAK IT in hydrogen peroxide. Sometimes I wonder if Heavenly Father just looks down at me and shakes his head because he has to basically draw pictures for me. Well, I started to soak it. The first time I did it, it was like my hangnail exploded! All this gross stuff came out. IT WAS AWESOME!!! It was like one of those really good zits that pops really good and goes away the next day. My hangnail didn't go away the next day, it continued to explode but little by little it got better. Now I can function without feeling a heartbeat in my thumbnail and people can look at my nail without me screaming in pain to look away! Yipee for answered prayers and hydrogen peroxide!

Let's play hide and seek

The other morning after I had gone running, K asked if I would play hide and seek with him. Now usually how it goes is he counts first, I hide and he finds me. Then he hides in the same spot and dies laughing when I "find" him. Well, on this particular morning he was in my room with a bucket. He told me that he was going to hide first. I said ok, but before I could count he told me that he was ready. I think I had been in my closet putting something away. When I walked out, this is what I found.

I told him that he was a goof and then he said, "Oh I forgot. I meant to do it like this.

After he was in there, he told me he was ready and asked,"Mommy can you see me like this?" I told him yes and so he tried a different way.

I don't think that he really believed me that I could in fact see him. Some people work on the alphabet with their children. Not me, we work on hide and seek. Clearly he needs the help!
